Lagoland is a themed neighborhood on Comet Island which attempts to represent a small town costal environment. The Neighborhood started in November of 2006 On new Kansas and the first residents moved into town on December of 2006. You can see a list of the founding members of this neighborhood by using the links to the left. In September of 2008 the hood upgraded to a larger size neighborhood. And in July of 2009 the hood moved to Comet Island to a almost prefectly flat location perfect for building on.

Please stop squating on our doorsteps. Please do not put your PAZ's arround the outside of our community. If you are within 50 meters of the edge of the neighborhood ThereHelp will be contacted and your PAZ will be removed. If you are outside of that 50 meter barrier, but still visible from any place inside the neighborhood, you may be banned from entering the hood!

Many Lagoland items are for sale. Many are not. The larger items like roads and community buildings were created just for this neighborhood and are not currently for sale.

Lagoalnd is represented by 2 avatars only! Francis_7 and LagolandSlumlord If you see any clubs/groups that are not conrolled by these two avatar names, do not bother joining them. Do NOT start (or participate in ) clubs representing the authority of Lagoalnd! No lago police, sherifs, etc! There is an official Lagoalnd Pretend Police gorup you can join if you want to pretend to be a police officer here. There is also a Lagoalnd Pretend Mafia (hideout coming soon!) that you can join!

You neighborhood manager avatar is named LagolandSlumLord. The other top choice was Mr. Tiki, but no one would want to live in his neighborhood! If you have issues with visitors or residents of Lagoland. Please theremail Francis_7 as his theremail works better.

Getting started in Lagoalnd
You need to have a neighborhood lot. A PAZ will not work. Lagoland is mostly 1 acre and 1/2 acre lots. Lagonad does not want more small lots. If you have a 1/6 or a 1/4 acre lot forget about it! Certain spaces in the shopping mall have small lots but they are an exception.

Neighborhood lots have monthly rent. You need to pay up front for your rent for an entire month. If you put out a lot be prepared to stay there for the month. There are no refunds from this neighborhood for people leaving early. If you move in and cause problems (via lot placement) expect to find your lot removed.

Lot prices are as follows. For each lot there is a 1 time fee and a monthly charge to keep it out. No other sizes are currently allowed to be droped in Lagoland. Use the links below to buy a lot of you do not already have one!

• 2 acre lot (6000t one time fee to buy the lot) and 36,000t every 30 days. 90 meters 50 drops.
• 1 acre Lot (4000t one time fee) and 24,000t every 30 days. 64 meters 50 drops.
  (this 1 acre size is the nicest lot size for price and number of drops!)
• 1/2 acre lot (3000t one time fee) and 15,000t every 30 days. 45 meters 30 drops. There are also large lots that allow for 100 drops.

The best way to drop a lot is to press CTRL SHIFT D twice. The first time tirne turns on the neighborhood boundry in green and the second time turnes on the neighborhood lots in pink lines. Then you can go to the view menu and view the area from above. Medium zoom works best to help place your lot. Go back to your my things and point at the neighborhood lot you own. Lots have a feature that allows you to preview the drop area. It shows up as a blue square. This works great in medium zoon. Then you go to the My Things menu again and take out the lot. You can place your lot over the sidewalk but please try to keep it out of the street if possible.

Next you need to have a nice house which will fit in your neighborhood lot. This is NOT a trailer park. 'Crack house' looking shacks are not welcome. The outside of the house should be decorated with taste. No giant advertisements and flashing animated signs. There should be no huge floating structures.

How much does all this cost?
Well lets say you buy a 1/2 acre lot. Thats 3000t and 15,000t to drop the lot. Then perhaps you want a house. a Nice Craftsman Style House will run you about 14,500t. Often they come up for auction as used for a lot less! So to set out the house in a lot and pay the rent for the first month that would run you about 32,500t. Then you need some decorations to place inside your home. Costs vary on those. Check out the auctions.
Then agian, in any neighborhood you are probably looking at a similar amount.

LagolandSlumlord has used many hood drops to provide pre-droped houses, Saving you from 1-6 drops on your lot! So if you find an empty house, feel free to place your lot over it and make yourself at home!

About THE House
The house is a pre droped limited edition house. It has a requirement of a 2 acre 100 drop lot. The lot may need to extend into the street a bit. Since it is so creepy I hope tennants will decorate it appropriately. I have had many offers from people who wanted to buy the house, but I think after a while people may tire of it and want to move out. So now it is provided free to live in in Lagoland. Best of all you save on 6 drops by having it be part of the neighborhood!

Lagoland Resident Guidelines.
Sort of like the pirate code, there needs to be some sort of rules just to keep the neighborhood from descending to a 'lord of the flies' level. So here they are, mostly lifted from Meret's well conceived neighborhood guidelines.

Lagoland is a small city themed neighborhood. Activities and objects inside or nearby the hood should reflect this theme. This neighborhood is designed for people who want a small taste of the real world in their There on-line lives. With this in mind, there are a few guidelines you should follow to live in lagoland:

1. To stay within the theme most modern houses will work just fine. Things like giant pyramids, futuristic houses and the like would just ruin the overall look and feel of the hood. No houses on stilts please, no cottages with thatched roofs, and please no houses that look like they would be selling Crack out of!

2. Dropping objects outside your house for events is fine, but please do not clutter up the neighborhood with objects that do not match the look and feel of the small town. Think Mayberry R.F.D., not downtown Chicago! Animated 20 meter billboards are not welcome, though some advertising is OK.

3. There are three common event lots for large events in Lagoland. These are open to all for running free and hosted events. Feel free to book large events and parties at any of these lots!

Lagoalnd School Free Event Hosting Lot (Just outside the school on the street)
Lagoland Therriotte Hotel Free Event Hosting Lot (Located where the sign for the Therriotte is in the parking lot)


4. Being a themed neighborhood, Lagoland will attract visitors like seg violations : ) so be sure to show visitors courtesy and understanding... especially when they complain about bouncing while the roadways load. Should a visitor or a resident irritate you try to :

- Ask then nicely to stop. Please explain to them that if they persist they may be removed permanently from the area.
- If they persist and ignore your request then you can ignore them or put them on the ban list for your lot.
- If they continue bothering others in the area send an IM or theremail to Francis_7 to report it.

Please note this guideline is for RESIDENTS- those who have a lot in Lagoland. PAZ's visible form within the neighborhood are not permitied. While this is ok with There's guideleines, which allow a 50 meter ring around the neighborhood, it is not OK with me. Living in a neighborhood is slighly cheaper than living in a paz, plus you get to host your own events! PAZ's also generate much more lag for tennants, so to current policy is to ignore on sight all PAZ owners who move within visible range of the hood, and ones which are 50 meters or closer to the border will be reported to, and removed by, There.

5. Aside from hosting a special event, please leave these settings in place for you lot. This will help ensure visitors will have fun exploring Lagoland!

- Everyone but your ignores ALLOWED (if not set, people will be knocked off their vehicles if they fly over)
- if the SlumLord cant walk into your lot, expect it to be removed immediately.
- Paintguns OFF (or ON, this is a personal choice)
- Vehicles ON
- Change Clothes ON
- Pickup Object ON
- Drop Object OFF (or ON, this is a personal choice)
- Use Forcefield ON
Please allow others to enter your lot, unless you are hosting an invite only event.

If you are hosting an event you may change the permissions, as long as you set them back when it is over. This will help keep the neighborhood a fun place to be in. Try to avoid being disruptive of social events in the neighborhood.

Paintguns are only turned on in hood run areas for special events.

6. There is NO rule #6!

7. Lot sizes permited are: 1/2 acre, 1 acre, 2 acre. No smaller lots please (aside form residents who have been here from the start and shopping locations in the new Lagoland Galleria)

8. Lagoland now encourage role playing for various fun activities. Join the Lagoalnd Pretend Police or our verison of the mafia.
If you encounted a obviously abusive person, please report them to There Live Help or abuse@there.com.

9. The Clean Up Rule! Please remove all clubs with the name Lagoland (not started by the SlumLord (check his profile for a list of clubs you can join) from your profile. People with ties or membership to clubs like "Lago Mafia, LagoPolice, etc will be banned on sight! People forming hate groups against the community will be permanently banned from the neighborhood.

10. Documents and signs are welcome inside your own houses, and outside houses during and before special hosted events. Dropping links to your auctions on city streets, or begging for money is not welcome, and your documents will be removed. Do NOT block the streets!

11. Strangely enough people have been using signs to block entrances to people's houses. This is considered abuse in There and will be reported to abuse@there.com You may also be banned from the hood.
